Anatomie 4 took several months to make. It was built up over many layers and was created in a state of constant revision. The process of tuning in to the feeling of the painting and letting that feeling develop over a period of time can be very slow.

Painted with both oil and acrylic paint, the materials were layered in many thin washes to the point where they both repel and attract each other.   

Created during lockdown. Jules was interested in issues of the vulnerability of both the human body and psyche within its environment, working in layers, fabric, plaster and paint were stitched and poured on to the surface of the painting.
