Is Your Home Work Space 'Working' For You?

The working world has changed post lockdown, more and more people working from home for all or part of the week will become the new norm. Here are our 5 Top Tips to get the best out of your ‘home office’.

1) Make It All About You

There are many plus points for working from home - especially in the winter! - but the best thing of all is that you are free to make your workspace all about you and to create the best working environment for you to be productive and creative!

There is no better way to show your personality and to make your working environment conducive to creative thinking than by having a piece of art above your working area to motivate and inspire!  Gone are the days of boring corporate artworks for you!

2) Be Kind To Yourself

Working at home shouldn’t mean sitting at a desk all day.  Set aside a quiet ‘thinking area’ where you can allow yourself a well earned 15 minute meditation to refocus or where you can sit quietly and get your creative juices going.

3) Use Artwork To Get You Into The Zone

When choosing an artwork for your work space, go for something that allows you to get into the zone of working.  There is nothing like an abstract design to help with mindfulness and for focussing the mind.  Make sure the artwork is hanging at the correct height for you, not too high or too low, but directly in your line of sight.

4) Location, Location, Location

it is so important to get the position of your workspace just right, too.  Make the best use of natural light and position your workspace alongside a window, rather than looking straight out. Not so distracting, but still allowing you to turn your head once in a while!

5) Bring The Outside In

Finally, add a plant or two!  Not only does this bring the outside in, it is a good way to keep you at one with nature! Green is a very calming colour and helps to keep the stresses of work at bay!
