Whist we are keeping in the warm during winter, there is no better time to take the opportunity to sit back and reflect on our life and home and what we want to achieve going forward! Look around at the artwork in your home - ask yourself a few questions - does your artwork still reflect who you are now? Have you evolved as a person or family and left some of your old artwork behind? Did you follow trends and now they are not relevant anymore? Is your artwork dating your house - and you!

Of course, some artworks you will have had for years and continue to love as much as you did on the day you bought them. These artworks have a history and still reflect your personality. However, we are all guilty of making an impulse buy or buying a cool trendy artwork which no longer works with our changing lifestyle tastes.

Don’t worry, we are not suggesting that you ditch all your artwork!  Although, you may feel that some may be more use to the charity shop! The best solution is to keep your much loved pieces of the past hanging together in ‘salon’ style on one wall, maybe upstairs between bedrooms.  Don’t get hung up about the different colours and styles of frames, they will work together to make a perfect eclectic display. You have now curated your own private exhibition that will bring joy everyday!

The blank walls left behind will literally give you the space to think about what artwork you like now, what reflects your personality and your lifestyle today. You may find that your tastes have become more minimalistic and monochrome artwork is now your thing or you have become more partial to bright abstract wow factor artwork.  Either way give yourself time to see what artwork there is out there, what ‘speaks’ to you and relish a fresh kick start to your art collection.
