Tina Selby graduated from the University of the West of England in 2014 with a first class honours degree in Drawing and Applied Arts.
Her passion for pattern and form are evident in her artworks, which she has layered to create complex 3 dimensional compositions.
Using a laser cutter as her drawing tool, Tina is constantly experimenting with the technology, exploring different and exciting ways in which her art can take on a 3 dimensional form.
Her practice is a continual process of design and experimentation, continually testing the capabilities and limits of the laser cutter in order to turn her 2 dimensional drawings into 3 dimensional forms.
Texture and form are paramount to Tina’s ideas and the laser cutter offers endless possibilities of how to transform an ordinary material into an extraordinary object.
In her recent studies, Tina has engaged with the view of nature from an aerial perspective and this has led her to create an exciting new series of 3 dimensional pictures, which highlight the complexity and intricacy of our beautiful planet.
