Samuel Deacon

Samuel Deacon is a British, London based abstract painter and sculptor who works from his home studio in West London.

Since 2016, Samuel has been creating abstract artwork with a heavy focus on texture, often using plaster, cracking medium, gels and pastes alongside acrylic paint to create striking paintings, inviting viewers to explore the surface of the canvas up close. He draws inspiration from many areas including nature, architecture, interior design, music and his emotions.

After studying interior architecture at university, where he felt restricted creatively by technical constraints and clean line drawings, Samuel found his joyful and energetic paintings were an outlet for his emotions and his chosen textures have developed through experimentation over the years. His artistic heroes include Gerard Richter, Louise Nevelson and Frank Bowling.

Samuel has sold his paintings worldwide, reaching as far as South Korea. He has participated in group shows across London and his work is displayed in restaurants and showrooms throughout London.
