Abigail Lipski

Abigail paints invented interiors and landscapes that house objects and figures contemplating a liminality between the real and imagined. An ambiguity of time and place casts the net wide to childhood daydreams and dislocated memories of absence, loss and belonging. Cross fertilisation may occur with references from one painting appearing in another in the form of colour, shape, object or figure suggesting glimpses into an interior world. Wisps of memory and dreams; Slipperiness of oil paint and richness of colour combine, seeking to create an alternate world of shifting patterns and mutating identities.
